Information about the Parish Council

Little Addington Parish Council consists of 7  elected councillors and an electorate of around 1551.

Council Meetings are generally held on the third Tuesday of the month (apart from August) in  St Mary the Virgin Church, High Street, Little Addington. Dates are publicised below and on the noticeboard on the bus shelter.

The Parish Council’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Street Lighting; Highways; Trees; Bus Shelters & Seats; Planning; Litter & Dog Bins.

It can be confusing to know which council is responsible for what services in the village.

Parish and town councils are part of local government in Northamptonshire together with the North Northamptonshire Council.  Each is responsible for different things.

The Parish Council is responsible for – streetlighting, the bus shelter, benches, the village noticeboard, the telephone box (defibrillator), some trees, verges and maintenance, grit bins and dog bins.

North Northamptonshire Council is responsible for – local services including housing, local planning, environmental health and refuse collections, as well as strategic services such as highways, education, libraries, social services, strategic planning and refuse disposal.
